What happens in trance?
When we humans enter into the trance state, we become more open to new ideas. It is the basis of most advertising on TV. TV is a trance producing medium. How many times have you gotten lost in watching your favorite TV shows? Did you lose track of time? You become entranced and the advertising between segments at that time target you and work to influence you to purchase the advertiser's product. It is a very effective method of influence, and has been used for decades successfully. Have you ever been influenced to buy something that was advertised on TV? Of course you have, and that's why you know how powerful suggestions given to you while in trance can be. Use It For Your Benefit
So now you know that you, like most of us can achieve a trance state and be influenced to take some kind of action from it. Wouldn't it be nice if we can do this for things that we want to do? Like being more successful? Maybe changing some kind of behavior that we don't want to do anymore and replacing it with a behavior we would like to do.

The first steps in starting a self-hypnosis program is to first learn and become comfortable with guiding yourself into trance. Achieving an effective auto induced hypnotic trance is important to communicate your intent to your subconscious mind.
The Key To The Treasure
The act of guiding yourself into that trance state known as self-hypnosis is very simple and only requires that you invest a few minutes per day in exercising your mental abilities. The key to success is consistency. If you are consistent in your self-hypnosis training, you will program or re-program your mind for the success you desire. Now here's a simple way of putting yourself into self-hypnosis. This intro will take about a minute or so and it's helpful to set a timer at first so you can train your mind to recognize that you want to do this for a minute. Find a place where you are safe, and will not be disturbed for a few minutes. Close your eyes and focus your attention on your breathing. Focus on your next three breaths, and then focus on the muscles around your eyes. Relax the muscles around your eyes until they are so very relaxed that they just won't work. Now hold onto that relaxation for about 60 seconds or so. As you hold onto that relaxation, notice the rest of your body becoming even more relaxed.
When the alarm sounds, you can open your eyes and return to your surroundings. Now when you open your eyes you are going to feel more focused, more centered, and more in control than before. You now have a very simple way of guiding yourself into trance to find equilibrium. As you practice this daily you will become comfortable with entering into the self-hypnosis state.
