ABC News Claims Hypnosis Works For Weight Loss

Does hypnosis work for weight loss? That is a common question for people looking to lose weight and wanting the answers to some important questions. Aside from the previous question, the other questions, “why aren’t I able to lose weight?” , or “why am I always thinking about food?” and of course, “what’s wrong with me?

Hypnosis can help you answer many of your unanswered questions and help you to create the attitudes similar to the attitude that you have observed with fit and healthy people around you. The fit and healthy people around you are going to become your role models as you regain the healthy ways that you were born with. Yes you were born with healthy ways of eating and behaving.

So ABC News has discovered the power of hypnosis. Here are some of the things that they have said about hypnosis:

Hypnosis is an age-old technique designed to speak to your subconscious mind and alter your behavior. Known to work well to quit smoking...”

They wrote about one woman who had lost 95 pounds using hypnosis to help her change her habits. Here’s what they said:

Judy Lederman has struggled with her weight all her life, and said hypnosis helped her lose 95 pounds… Not wanting to deal with another diet, she went to a hypnotist. At the time, Lederman weighed 224 pounds.

Initially, she was skeptical. Not so, when she saw the results.

It didn’t happen over night, but the point is that it did work and she’s now 129 pounds. Here’s what Judy had to say about one of the changes in her thoughts and attitudes:

I used to go out of my way to find the best bakery or the best cakes or pastries,” Lederman said. “At this point, I would go anywhere to find the best hypnotist, the best gym. My whole way of thinking has turned on that. And the pastries, they can just sit in the bakery.

There are new techniques to help you lose all that extra weight. One of the new programs available now is a virtual gastric weight loss band process that has a very high success rate in Europe. Hypnosis To Lose Weight - Lose Weight Fast

70 pounds is a significant amount of weight to lose, and unfortunately doing anything drastic to lose that amount of weight rapidly will result in horrible health consequences, as well as creating a problem with how you look due to sagging skin.  So first off you need to know that a sensible consistent program for weight loss and weight management will be your best solution.  This will probably not enable you to take off a significant amount of weight by Monday, but you will be on your way to getting to your proper weight so by this time next year you will not be in this situation.
With that said, your best procedure is to first identify what are your current behaviors that are causing you to gain that much weight in the first place.  Are you eating too much?  Are you eating the wrong foods, are you eating at the wrong places?  Are you taking in more calories than you are burning?  These are the first questions you need to ask so that you can establish a program to get you back into shape and start living the life that will make you happy and healthy.
Here are some tips to use in answer to some of those questions.
If you are eating too  much then 30 minutes before each meal, drink a glass of water.  This will help hydrate you and will satisfy any thirst that might’ve been misinterpreted as hunger.  This also does fill you up a little so that you will be able to control any desire to overeat when you do sit down to a meal.
If you are eating the wrong foods, then plan a menu that is healthier.  Start by eating more fresh foods, like fresh vegetables and fresh fruits.  Choose healthier proteins.  Stay away from processed foods, and fried foods.
If you are eating in the wrong places, set yourself some boundaries.  Make a pact with yourself that you will not eat unless you are sitting down at a table that is designated as an eating place.  This could be your kitchen table, dining room table, the cafeteria table.  Think about how this will eliminate a lot of the snacking that you have been doing mindlessly in front of the TV or the computer, or even walking around.
Find out if you are really overweight or not.  Just because you want to be at a certain weight, doesn’t necessarily mean that you are overweight.  A good place to find out if your body mass index is correct for you is to check out this free BMI calculator at:

Hypnosis To Lose Weight - What Type Of Foods To Eat

I was recently asked by a young woman if she ate unhealthy food but in small amounts will she be able to lose weight.  And the reason she questioned this is because she had a male friend who ate very little but he would eat junk.  Cookies, chips etc.  Not what anyone would consider  a diet of food.  So to answer that question more fully I decided to go over some of the basics of nutrition and weight loss.

Calories in, calories out.

On a very simple level, weight loss can be equated strictly with the number of calories you put into your body and then subtract the amount of energy you expend in caloric value.  You need to eat an amount that is less than what you burn in order to lose weight.

With that said there is a number of variables that will affect each individual’s weight loss as well.

Man vs. Woman

One of those seems to be gender.  Women naturally have more fatty tissues available to them, and this is for survival of themselves and the species.  Fatty tissues that support the reproductive system and are necessary for our human survival.

What is your age?

Another factor is age.  As we age, our body’s metabolism usually slows down, so food intake should adjust to our aging.  Unfortunately, as we age we often condition ourselves to eating for comfort.  We have more unpleasant experiences which require comforting and so we eat for comfort more often.  The longer we do this the more habitual this becomes.  And this works against us as well.


To overcome this conditioning requires mentally retraining ourselves to respond in a different way that is more appropriate for what it is that we truly want to become.  If you want to lose weight, you will want to condition yourself to respond to food as if it is just fuel for your body and not a way of getting comfort.  You need to train yourself to rely on other means to derive comfort.

Hypnosis - A way to take back control

While this might seem difficult for some, the good news is that by using hypnosis you can accomplish this pretty easily.  Changing your mind from the source, is the quickest way to make changes that are unthinking.  And you already know how effective that is as it has been your unthinking programming that has probably gotten you into this trouble already.

Thin or Healthy?  Why not both?

And finally, do you want to be thin or healthy?  Do you want to be attractive, or just be able to say you weigh a particular number?  Your answer will probably be that being thin will provide you with something other than bragging rights over how much you weigh.  Most people want to lose weight because they want to feel better and be more attractive.  Increase their self esteem, improve their chances for promotion at work, or socially.  It’s really about feeling better more than about looking better.  The result of fitting into your clothes more comfortably.  The freedom of not having to focus on food and meals so much, so you can put your mind onto other more productive and pleasing thoughts.
