Women, Food and God - How Hypnosis Can Train You Quickly

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

There’s a book that is highly recommended by Oprah Winfrey. It is written by Geneen Roth, and it deals with the emotions behind your eating behaviors. In fact, Oprah is now placing Geneen in her special guru category and is now claiming that this author is the reason why she has decided to take back the good fight and work toward losing the weight she needs to lose to be happy.

Being happy is the goal, and not the weight loss. But they certainly will go together as Oprah remains steadfast on her journey toward emotional freedom. That’s the freedom to feel the emotions that come up so she can respond to any and all emotions in a way that is most satisfactory.

Geneen Roth explains in her book that food is a teacher for those who use food to deal with their emotions. Sit back and take some time before you eat. A food meditation can be revealing to you.

You can speed this process along considerably when you combine what you learn in Roth’s book with the hypnosis techniques that I frequently use to rid clients of their past relationship with food. The emotional reasons that cause people to eat are learned responses that do not hold up under the scrutiny of the meditative experiences that Roth recommends. And using the hypnotic techniques of the masters can have those emotions debunked in your first or second session. When the emotional reasons for using food wrongly are corrected, you become free to treat food the way it was intended. For nourishment and rebuilding your body to equilibrium.

Join me for your affordable group or one on one training to learn the correct way to respond to your food choices and free yourself from emotional eating forever.

To find out how to join a group or to see about your own personal sessions call me at 212 223-1832.

What is your biggest nagging concern about emotional eating? What kind of food related problem have you been dealing with? Post your questions and concerns below.

Virtual Gastric Bypass Surgery - Using Hypnosis for Weight Loss in a Unique Way

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

You probably have heard of surgery for weight loss. This type of surgery goes by the name of bariatric surgery, bypass surgery, gastric bypass surgery, gastric banding surgery among a number of other names. The premise of these differing surgeries is similar it’s just the specific ways of accomplishing the end result that varies. And what the doctors want to accomplish is to decrease the size of your stomach, so that you couldn’t possibly eat as much as you have in the past.

The number of surgeries of this type has increased over the years. Probably due to the explosion of large size unhealthy people that are growing larger every year, all puns intended. The number of obese people in this country, including children, teens and adults has tripled over the years.

There is a hefty price tag attached to these weight loss surgeries. They range from $10,000 all the way to over $30,000. And when you are finished with the surgery you can spend up to a week in the hospital recovering if there are no complications.

One of the consequences of undergoing these surgeries with their invasive methodologies is the risk of nutritional deficiency. Depending on which surgery you choose, you could be at risk of Calcium, vitamin D, iron, and vitamin B 12 deficiencies. With another surgery you risk being deficient in proper protein digestion and vitamins that are fat soluble. There are also the side effect of vomiting as a result of the surgeries and this also leads to deficiencies as you can probably imagine.

With this type of surgery there is a diet protocol that must be adhered to. Don’t you think this is particularly problematic for people who have shown a gross disregard for adhering to any type of healthy diet in the past? Especially concerning choices of types of food as well as portion size? I do, and that’s what concerns me about the whole process. Is it really necessary to undergo the surgery just to follow a special diet? And this special diet would probably cause you to lose the weight you wanted in the first place?

So when we get right down to it, even if you don’t have the surgery, following the right diet program would have you at your goal weight over time without all the dangers of undergoing such a drastic operation.

And to give you some different choices, there is a program that will take you through a virtual surgery for weight loss. It is a virtual gastric bypass that is done in the office of a hypnotist. It gets your mind in tune with the idea that you have a reduced stomach capacity as a result of an imagined operation. And then the hypnosis sessions that follow are designed to keep you on track with having you learn a new way of processing food. Starting with your mind and how you feel toward healthy eating.

All in all this seems a sensible way of approaching this process. It’s between 3-10% of the cost of the actual surgery, and you don’t have to spend time in the hospital recovering, nor risk any adverse side effects. So using hypnosis for weight loss in this unique way sounds like a great first step to take before any surgery is recommended.

Hypnosis To Lose Weight - What Type Of Foods To Eat

Monday, April 6th, 2009

I was recently asked by a young woman if she ate unhealthy food but in small amounts will she be able to lose weight.  And the reason she questioned this is because she had a male friend who ate very little but he would eat junk.  Cookies, chips etc.  Not what anyone would consider  a diet of food.  So to answer that question more fully I decided to go over some of the basics of nutrition and weight loss.

Calories in, calories out.

On a very simple level, weight loss can be equated strictly with the number of calories you put into your body and then subtract the amount of energy you expend in caloric value.  You need to eat an amount that is less than what you burn in order to lose weight.

With that said there is a number of variables that will affect each individual’s weight loss as well.

Man vs. Woman

One of those seems to be gender.  Women naturally have more fatty tissues available to them, and this is for survival of themselves and the species.  Fatty tissues that support the reproductive system and are necessary for our human survival.

What is your age?

Another factor is age.  As we age, our body’s metabolism usually slows down, so food intake should adjust to our aging.  Unfortunately, as we age we often condition ourselves to eating for comfort.  We have more unpleasant experiences which require comforting and so we eat for comfort more often.  The longer we do this the more habitual this becomes.  And this works against us as well.

Re-Conditioning

To overcome this conditioning requires mentally retraining ourselves to respond in a different way that is more appropriate for what it is that we truly want to become.  If you want to lose weight, you will want to condition yourself to respond to food as if it is just fuel for your body and not a way of getting comfort.  You need to train yourself to rely on other means to derive comfort.

Hypnosis - A way to take back control

While this might seem difficult for some, the good news is that by using hypnosis you can accomplish this pretty easily.  Changing your mind from the source, is the quickest way to make changes that are unthinking.  And you already know how effective that is as it has been your unthinking programming that has probably gotten you into this trouble already.

What is your BMI?

Another thing that is important is what is your BMI.  That is your Body Mass Index.  It will determine if you are fat or not.  Muscle is important, and you want to make sure that you are not losing muscle just to have a lower number on the bathroom scale.  The number really has less meaning than the way you look, feel, fit into your clothes, and how you get around in the world.  That is the type of fitness that is most important.  Here is a free BMI calculator for finding out your  Body Mass Index over at this link:  http://hypnoticstate.com/hypnosis-tools/hypnosis-bmi-calculator.html

Thin or Healthy?  Why not both?

And finally, do you want to be thin or healthy?  Do you want to be attractive, or just be able to say you weigh a particular number?  Your answer will probably be that being thin will provide you with something other than bragging rights over how much you weigh.  Most people want to lose weight because they want to feel better and be more attractive.  Increase their self esteem, improve their chances for promotion at work, or socially.  It’s really about feeling better more than about looking better.  The result of fitting into your clothes more comfortably.  The freedom of not having to focus on food and meals so much, so you can put your mind onto other more productive and pleasing thoughts.

Self Hypnosis To Reprogram Your Thoughts

You can learn to refocus your mind on a healthier life, and lifestyle using self hypnosis.  You can take an active role in re programming your mind to think the thoughts that make you feel more successful, which will lead you to being more successful.  There is a great free course on using self hypnosis to lose weight that you can get over here: http://hypnoticstate.com/hypnosis/lose-weight.html

Long Term Consequences

There are also long term health consequences that result from eating unhealthy foods.  So all of your worries and concerns over weight might be short lived if you find yourself succumbing to a life threatening ailment as a result of eating really poorly.
