Gastric Bypass Surgery - Does the Surgery Work or is it Something Else?

July 21st, 2010

Gastric Bypass Surgery is a medical procedure that is performed by a doctor in a hospital operating room. The surgeon will cut into your body and perform some kind of reworking of your digestive system that makes it almost impossible for you to eat too much food. And if you can’t eat too much food then you will start to lose weight.

It sounds like a wonderful way to lose weight for people who are unable to do it on their own. But does the surgery make the patient lose weight or is there another factor that is the cause of the weight loss? The reason that I question the surgery is because after the operation the patient is then forced to eat a special diet. They must eat small portions. And I believe that it’s that process that causes the weight loss. Not the operation.

Here’s what happens during the operation. the surgeon goes in and cuts away part of the stomach or parts of the tubes leading to the stomach. He then reattaches them to the rest of the digestive system. The intent is to make the patients stomach smaller an unable to hold their normal amount of food. In fact, if the patient should eat too much they will end up vomiting up the extra portion, or worse, cause damage to their internal organs. this would require another surgical procedure that would add additional danger to the entire process.

So what this process has done is take the condition of being overweight, which is a long term danger, and made it into an acute short term danger. And it does require the patient to re learn better eating and dietary habits. These new better eating behaviors are the reason for the loss of weight. And if the patient doesn’t adopt the new behaviors they will have an acute attack of sometime that could result in death. It seems kind of a drastic measure, just to get you to take back control of your eating, doesn’t it?

But what if you could have the motivator of the surgery without all the risks of the surgery? Would that work? And then working with a professional to stay on track with your new dietary choices start to lose weight the natural way. Without the risk of immediate death and without the cost of the hospital bills and the surgeons expense.

What has been developed is a process called a virtual gastric bypass. And it is performed in the office of a hypnotist trained to guide their client through a visualization process that has the client believing they underwent an operation that decreased the size of their stomach. Making it impossible for the client to eat too much or they will end up vomiting the extra food. With the effectiveness of the hypnotic techniques used these days, this is a wonderful workable solution. And one that should be considered.

It has been reported in News across the world about these type of virtual operations being performed. According to one hypnotist they achieve a 95% success rate in one month’s time. Some of the participants reported losing up to a pound a day. With this encouraging news, I am looking for participants to join me in a study of this new procedure. We are forming a group that will do this radically new hypnotic process. If you are interested in being a part of this limited group, please call immediately 212 223-1832 and see if you can be accepted.

And what do you think of this process? Do you have any experiences with trying to lose weight and reservations about whether this could work for you? Post your comments below.

Virtual Gastric Bypass Surgery - Using Hypnosis for Weight Loss in a Unique Way

July 20th, 2010

You probably have heard of surgery for weight loss. This type of surgery goes by the name of bariatric surgery, bypass surgery, gastric bypass surgery, gastric banding surgery among a number of other names. The premise of these differing surgeries is similar it’s just the specific ways of accomplishing the end result that varies. And what the doctors want to accomplish is to decrease the size of your stomach, so that you couldn’t possibly eat as much as you have in the past.

The number of surgeries of this type has increased over the years. Probably due to the explosion of large size unhealthy people that are growing larger every year, all puns intended. The number of obese people in this country, including children, teens and adults has tripled over the years.

There is a hefty price tag attached to these weight loss surgeries. They range from $10,000 all the way to over $30,000. And when you are finished with the surgery you can spend up to a week in the hospital recovering if there are no complications.

One of the consequences of undergoing these surgeries with their invasive methodologies is the risk of nutritional deficiency. Depending on which surgery you choose, you could be at risk of Calcium, vitamin D, iron, and vitamin B 12 deficiencies. With another surgery you risk being deficient in proper protein digestion and vitamins that are fat soluble. There are also the side effect of vomiting as a result of the surgeries and this also leads to deficiencies as you can probably imagine.

With this type of surgery there is a diet protocol that must be adhered to. Don’t you think this is particularly problematic for people who have shown a gross disregard for adhering to any type of healthy diet in the past? Especially concerning choices of types of food as well as portion size? I do, and that’s what concerns me about the whole process. Is it really necessary to undergo the surgery just to follow a special diet? And this special diet would probably cause you to lose the weight you wanted in the first place?

So when we get right down to it, even if you don’t have the surgery, following the right diet program would have you at your goal weight over time without all the dangers of undergoing such a drastic operation.

And to give you some different choices, there is a program that will take you through a virtual surgery for weight loss. It is a virtual gastric bypass that is done in the office of a hypnotist. It gets your mind in tune with the idea that you have a reduced stomach capacity as a result of an imagined operation. And then the hypnosis sessions that follow are designed to keep you on track with having you learn a new way of processing food. Starting with your mind and how you feel toward healthy eating.

All in all this seems a sensible way of approaching this process. It’s between 3-10% of the cost of the actual surgery, and you don’t have to spend time in the hospital recovering, nor risk any adverse side effects. So using hypnosis for weight loss in this unique way sounds like a great first step to take before any surgery is recommended.

Fear of Elevators - Where Does That Come From?

July 15th, 2010

I have had the opportunity of working with people who feel scared or have an underlying anxious feeling when they have to ride in an elevator. This becomes more pronounced when they are forced to ride on an elevator that becomes increasingly more crowded as it ascends or descends to their chosen floor.

In my experience this problem is either the beginning or the manifestation of further discomfort that’s just around the corner. It has it’s root in another fear. Some people have told me that this is a symptom of claustrophobia but I tend to disagree. I’m not big on analysis, and my profession doesn’t require it to achieve successful results in the way my client navigates through their life.

Any fear based response goes to the primal programming that we fortunately are born with. This programming is meant to keep us safe and secure in difficult and dangerous situation. Those type of situations today are few and far between. Think about what danger meant to us back when our species was new. It meant not being captured and eaten. It meant avoiding pain and death at all costs. We basically were fighting for our lives.

Does that type of scenario come up for us often in our daily life? Hardly! But responses are just the same as if we were being faced with life or death choices every time we are faced with this fear response. So we can safely say that this is an incorrectly learned response. There might be some reason why our body is responding badly, but that reason doesn’t always matter. The fact remains that our body responds incorrectly.

So where does that incorrect response come from? It’s not possible to accurately predict where your fear of elevators originated. If it’s necessary to uncover the source of your problem in order to neutralize it, then using the hypnotic techniques I’ve learned and developed will provide access to the answers that are needed. There is no reason for you to be saddled with an unnecessary fear forever.

And what is worse, is that if these fears remain unresolved, it usually leads to you experiencing more fears around things that you never feared before. So it’s always best to resolve your problems with fear as soon as you can.

The Reason You Smoke and Help Quitting Smoking

July 10th, 2010

There are so many different types of smokers out there. So you might think that there must be many different ways to help quitting smoking. Some people tell me that they smoke because it relaxes them. Some say they smoke because they are bored, some say they smoke out of habit. But none of these reasons are the real reason as to why you began to smoke in the first place.

The reason that smokers begin to smoke is because they have an instinctual need to fit in. They need to be a part of the group. This is part of our primal programming. You have no control over it. You either follow what your programming is or you will feel an intense visceral feeling that something is wrong. You are connected to these instincts so strongly that you really have no way to control your actions. Unless you learn what their purpose is and how to sidestep the process entirely.

You probably can recall what was going on during your first cigarette. You were probably a teenager. Well, if you’ve been around teenagers lately you know that that age can be considered a form of mental illness. All kidding aside, that’s an age of many physical changes that affect our mental chemistry. So we don’t really know entirely what’s happening. There’s a lot of risk taking involved, and a feeling of immortality and invincibility.

So now we combine that with other things that might be going on around you as a teen and get a sense of what was happening at the time. Because it’s the combination of your instincts that come together in a unique way at a special time that makes it OK for you to do something that you really did know was the wrong thing to do. At that age you might have been off at school. Disconnected from the familiarity of family and home. And you were stretching your wings looking to soar.

Some friends around you probably were smoking. Maybe they did it because someone told them it was cool, or the “hip” thing to do. Maybe you had to pull an all nighter and needed something to keep you up and a friend suggested a cigarette. Underneath all of that was an intense desire to fit in. To be included in a friendly and supportive group of people. You were outmatched by your genetic predisposition to be part of the herd, and wanting to be grown up.

So you learned how to smoke. And it took some time. Nobody gets it right the very first time. That’s because your body actually doesn’t like smoke. It’s an irritant. All living organisms avoid smoke and fire. And we’re no different. So you actually had to work at it to become a smoker. And work you did. After a short battle between the smoker in you and the nonsmoker in you, the smoker won out. And congratulations! You became a smoker.

If you check what’s going on around you, you probably know that smoking is no longer the cool and “hip” thing to do. In fact smokers these days are ostracized. They are forced to go outside to smoke. They are looked down upon as a lesser citizen these days. I don’t feel that way, but I’m told by them that they do. So in reality smoking is no longer serving the purpose that was originally intended. You no longer fit in as a smoker. In fact if you want to fit in, and that’s still part of your primal programming, you need to become a nonsmoker. And if you are having difficulty you can get help quitting smoking.

Once your inner mind understands this as fully as it once understood your need to fit in as a smoker, you will be well on your way to freeing yourself of this nasty habit. There are several ways of doing that. There is some talk therapy, there is bio feedback training, and there is hypnosis training. Of the three, hypnosis to quit smoking is recognized as one of the fastest ways of stopping smoking. It’s a matter of getting to your subconscious mind and having it accept the truth about what it takes to follow your instincts to be part of the group.

There are also other quitting smoking side effects that can be used to convince your subconscious mind that it’s the right thing to do. Using hypnosis to quit smoking, you can quickly program your mind to respond in a much healthier way. So for the best help quitting smoking you can call a hypnotist at 212 223-1832 and find out whether you are a good candidate for change. The smarter you are the more responsive to hypnosis you will be.

Anxiety Therapy and How It’s Different from Hypnosis Fear

July 4th, 2010

If you are living with fear of any kind, you probably have thought about doing something about it. Because fear can be an overwhelming feeling that is pervasive. It can creep into your every day life and make it difficult to focus on what you are doing and live a normal life. I know how you feel. It’s really uncomfortable to wake up every morning and still feel that same rumbling underneath everything that you do. You might have thought that it was anxiety and you might have considered anxiety therapy to help you with that. If that worked for you great! You wouldn’t be still searching for answers.

The problem is that anxiety therapy is not the answer for every one and is not necessary when the problem is just fear. Fear creates a primal response known as the flight or fight response. Anxiety therapy doesn’t always address your problem the way it needs to be dealt with especially if it is not anxiety but fear. And your fear response is only your learned automatic response.

With hypnosis you can learn to change your responses to your thoughts. You can remove your habitual fear based responses naturally. Hypnosis is your natural ability to use trance in an effective communicative way. It is also complementary with other modalities. So if you are currently doing anxiety therapy you can ask your doctor for a referral to see your hypnotist to help with your fear. You might find that when you work on your fear, your anxiety also becomes less intense.

It really sucks going through life carrying around a fear that has no purpose. The purpose of fear is to protect us in dangerous situations. Most of your day in and day out life experiences are not dangerous. If they are then neither anxiety therapy nor hypnosis fear will help you. You need to take other measures to remove the dangerous situation.

One of the most common fear based responses is a fear of public speaking. Many people have this problem. It is a major problem that can affect your earning potential. As you move up the ladder of success it is more and more important that you be able to communicate with larger and larger groups of people. If you’re knees get weak, you feel faint, nauseous, get cold sweats, it is hard for you to be a good communicator. So taking care of this public speaking fear or phobia is an investment in your future.

Stop living your life in fear. If it is fear that you are experiencing I can help. Call to speak to me and we can figure out if hypnosis for fear is right for you. You can reach me at 212 223-1832. If the line is busy, keep trying. If you get voice mail just leave your message.
